New to Maxwell Mearns?

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

Key information about the church...

Where and when does the church meet?

We meet every Sunday at 10:30 am for our  Sunday morning service. Please see Sunday Services for more details. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to begin. If the Church car park is full, you can usually park in the car park of the adjoining Mearns Castle High School.

We meet at:
Waterfoot Road
Newton Mearns
Glasgow G77 5RE

You can see a map on our contact us page.  If using a SatNav to find us, it is better to input the postcode G77 5GU.

What should I expect when I visit Maxwell Mearns?

You will receive a very warm welcome  from our Welcome Team, who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to a seat. There will be singing, prayer, a time for our children and then a reading from the Bible. Normally, the minster will then preach from the Bible.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service in the Maxwell Hall, where there is plenty of time to meet new people and find out more.

What happens to the children at church?

We have a fantastic programme for all ages at the Church for:

Creche  (0 - 3 years).
HizKidz  Nursery - P7
Prime Time   S1 - S3

Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together for the first part of the morning then they will usually gather at the front for an age-related talk. The children will then leave for their age-specific activities. You will need to go with your children and register them, the first time they attend.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
